California State Parks

California Department of Parks and Recreation manages 280 park units in 12 regions of California. California State Parks contains the most diverse natural and wildlife for people to explore and experience.  These parks protect and preserve endangered plant and animal species, ancient Native American sites, historic structures and artifacts.

Rebranding the entire Department of Parks and Recreation's identity is the objective of this project. The recreation of the brand include these elements: logo, typography, colors, stationery, signage, map, uniform, mobile application, and website. A identity style guide will be presented as the final product. Since 2014 will be the 150 years anniversary of California Department of Parks and Recreation, the brand system contained the theme of “memories.” The logo, an organic shape of tree rings, has the meaning of our own experiences and memories in the parks including the historical side of California State Park.
